LITHUANIA - LATVIA - ESTONIA

DAY 1: VILNIUS

Arrival in Vilnius airport. Have a private transfer to the hotel. Check-in. Have the afternoon at leisure and overnight in Vilnius.

DAY 2: VILNIUS - TRAKAI - VILNIUS

Have a breakfast at hotel.

Vilnius, often called a Baroque city, reveals layers of Gothic and Renaissance influence in its architecture. Surrounded by lush parks, rivers, and hills, the city offers a unique harmony between history and nature. Let the guide immerse you in Vilnius’ captivating atmosphere.

Experience the rich history of Vilnius on a private 2-hour walking tour through its majestic Old Town, one of Eastern Europe’s largest. Explore landmarks like Cathedral Square with  the bell tower, the Palace of the Dukes (exterior), and admire from far the Gediminas Hill. Stroll along the picturesque Pilies Street to the oldest University in Lithuania Vilnius University, passing the elegant St. John’s Church and the charming Literatų Street. Admire the Gothic masterpiece of St. Anne’s Church (exterior), discover Town Hall Square. You will also see the President’s Palace (exterior) and the historical Gate of Dawn.

Have a free time for the lunch.  

After lunch have a private tour to Trakai - the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Trakai town is situated lies on a narrow cape between 3 lakes, and it is famous for impressive Trakai Castle. Trakai and Trakai Castle are important to Lithuanian history. Associated with Grand Duke Gediminas, a medieval Lithuanian hero, Trakai rose to importance before the Grand Duchy of Lithuania joined with Poland. The area began to develop in the 1400s with its castle as the center of the action, though the area saw human habitation long before these permanent structures were built. Trakai Castle Museum is situated in two castles - one on an island in the middle of a lake, and one on the shore. A notable feature of Trakai is that the town was built and preserved by people of different nationalities. Historically, communities of Karaims, Tatars, Lithuanians, Russians, Jews, and Poles lived here.

Return to Vilnius.

DAY 3: VILNIUS - KAUNAS 

After breakfast have a private transfer to Kaunas, the second largest city of Lithuania served as the capital between two world wars.

Enjoy a private walking tour of Kaunas (2hrs).
Kaunas was chosen as the European Capital of Culture 2022. During excursion visiting historical places as well as something new – lately Kaunas is famous for inspiring street art – different building all around the city has some story painted on. Total collection consists of 50 street art objects.

City tour of Kaunas, including the historic places like Old Town of Kaunas with St George's Church, Kaunas Castle built at the confluence of the Nemunas and the Neris Rivers, the Town Hall Square surrounded by former 16th - 18th century merchants’ dwelling houses and baroque churches. 

DAY 4: KAUNAS - PALANGA - KLAIPEDA

After breakfast have a private transfer to Palanga (2hrs 30 min) – the nonofficial capital of amber. Visit the Amber Museum, which holds a great variety of amber pieces and the world’s biggest collection of inclusions.  Take a stroll in the Botanical Park of Palanga with Birute's Hill, the central street full of souvenir shops and hundreds of open-air cafes.

Drive to Klaipeda and check in at hotel.

Explore the charming Old Town of Klaipeda, where cobblestone streets and half-timbered buildings showcase the city’s rich history. Visit the Theater Square, the lively center of Klaipeda, featuring the famous Ann from Tharau statue. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere surrounded by historical architecture. Stroll through narrow streets lined with distinctive half-timbered houses and explore hidden courtyards, artisan shops, and galleries reflecting the city’s Hanseatic past. Admire medieval architecture and restored warehouses along the Dane River. Conclude with a visit to the nearby remnants of Klaipeda Castle and the Castle Museum.
Located on the site of the former Klaipeda Castle, the museum offers a glimpse into the city’s medieval past. Exhibits showcase archaeological finds, historic artifacts, and detailed models of the castle and its fortifications. Visitors can explore the history of Klaipeda, from its founding to its strategic importance as a port city.

DAY 5: KLAIPEDA - NIDA - KLAIPEDA 

Have a breakfast at hotel.

Take a ferry ride and discover the beauty of Nida and the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where breathtaking landscapes meet rich cultural heritage. You will visit the Hill of Witches, an open-air sculpture park with over 80 wooden carvings depicting characters from Lithuanian folklore. Visit the Amber Gallery (interior) to learn about the history of amber, its cultural significance, and admire intricate amber pieces. Explore the Great Dunes for panoramic views of the Curonian Spit, the Baltic Sea, and the Russian border. Visit the sun dial atop the Parnidis Dune for a serene moment in nature. Discover the charming town of Nida with its traditional fisherman houses, peaceful harbor. End with relaxation on Nida’s pristine white-sand beach, perfect for a walk and rest amidst the dunes.

Return to Klaipeda in afternoon and overnight.

DAY 6: KLAIPEDA - HILL OF CROSSES - RUNDALE - RIGA

After breakfast departure by a private transfer to Latvia. Have a stopover at the Hill of Crosses.

The Hill of Crosses is located 12 km north of Siauliai. Over the centuries, crosses, giant crucifixes, carvings of Lithuanian patriots, statues of the Virgin Mary and thousands of tiny effigies and rosaries have been brought here by Catholic pilgrims. The number of crosses is estimated at more than 100,000.
After short break in Hill of Crosses leave for Latvia with a stopover in Rundale Palace.

Visit Rundale Palace - one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in Latvia built 1736-1740.
Rundale is one of the most visited sights in Latvia. Rundale Palace, once the summer residence of the Duke of Courland Ernst Johann Biron, is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in Latvia. Built from 1736 to 1740 the palace was designed by outstanding Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, the creator of the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg. The splendid interior of the palace dazzled contemporaries. Crystal chandeliers, silk wallpaper, sculptures, luxuriously tiled fireplaces, mirrors, elegant galleries, and refined colors and frescos were made by Italian artists Francesco Martini and Carlo Zucci. Enjoy a free time at Rundale Palace Garden.

Rundale Palace Garden
The selection of plants for the park is based on information obtained from 18th-century garden descriptions and books on Baroque gardens. The park of Rundale Palace is an essential part of the palace complex; it has retained its original layout without any significant changes. The garden was created between 1736 and 1740, at the same time as the palace was constructed. The park was not affected by modernization in the 19th century when formal gardens were transformed into landscape gardens. Cartography and inventory carried out in 1974 revealed that in the 19th-century trees in the park were still planted according to Rastrelli’s design.

Free time for lunch in Palace. Late afternoon arrive and overnight in Riga.

DAY 7: RIGA

After breakfast enjoy a private Riga Old town tour (2hrs). A walking tour through Riga Old Town seeing remarkable sites like St.Peter's Church with its famous rooster, St.Jacobs Church, Dom Square and Dom Cathedral, home to one of the world's most valuable historic organs. The Powder Tower and city walls will make you feel the breath of the medieval. The guide will tell you about the oldest stone residential dwellings in Riga, the Three Brothers, the Great and Small Guilds, and the fortification wall of Riga with the Swedish Gate the last surviving gate in the wall. The guide will introduce you to the intriguing story of the Cat House and show you Town Hall Square with the beautiful and elegant Blackheads House. The tour will take visitors to Riga Castle founded in 1330, the Parliament, the Monument of Liberty and fantastic Riga`s Opera House.

Visit Riga Central Market and have a local food sample tasting (2h)

DAY 8: RIGA - JURMALA - RIGA 

Have a breakfast at hotel. 

Enjoy the tour to world- famous Art Nouveau district. 

Walk to Art Nouveau district. Riga is like a museum of architecture, covering periods from Gothic to Classicism. But the real treasure of the city is the largest and best-preserved collection of Art Nouveau buildings in the world. This fact was corroborated by UNESCO in 1997 and now the central section of Riga is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Riga is sometimes called the "capital" of Art Nouveau thanks to the heritage of 800 buildings of Art Nouveau. 

The exteriors of the Art Nouveau buildings are imaginatively decorative and won`t leave guests incurious or without an opinion. 

Continue with a Jurmala Tour (4hrs)

Drive to Jurmala - a famous seaside resort situated only 25 km from Riga. The natural curative features of this place were already well known more than 150 years ago. Nowadays endless golden beaches, the Baltic Sea, salubrious air and the unique beauty of pine forests attract visitors. Jurmala is a cozy European town composed of houses plunged into the parks and forests. The wooden cottages of Jurmala are unique monuments of cultural heritage from beginning of the 20th century where Classicism, Art Nouveau, National Romanticism and Functionalism, and Modernism harmoniously co-exist.

Return in Riga and have a free time to discover the city on your own. Overnight in Riga.

DAY 9: RIGA - SIGULDA/TURAIDA - CESIS - TARTU

After breakfast check out and have a private tour to  Sigulda and Turaida Castle ruins and Cesis.

DAY 10: TARTU - SAAREMAA

Have a breakfast at hotel. 

Enjoy a private Tartu Sightseeing (2hrs, walking)

Hanseatic city of Tartu lies on the banks of the River Emajõgi. Have a guided tour by visiting most popular sights of city like Tartu Old Town with a neo-classical Town Hall dedicated to the 17th century, ruins of the Dome Church - largest in 15th century on the Toomemägi Hill – the green heart of Tart, Tartu University established in 1632 by King of Sweden Gustaf II Adolf and students` city complex, the historic town centre. During the tour guide will show you wonderful St.John’s Church, Devil’s and Angel’s Bridge and unique Tartu Observatory.

Have a free time for lunch and departure to Saaremaa Island. 

Arrive in Kuressaare - the Capital of Saaremaa in th evening. Check in and overnight. 

DAY 11: SAAREMAA

Have a breakfast at hotel.

Saaremaa has its` own uniqueness due to its location and isolation. There are still stone fences and houses with thatched roofs and working windmills in the villages.

Have a guided tour (2hrs) around the capital and the only city of the island – Kuressaare which based as a trading point since ancient times. Take a walk in Kuressaare town to admire its unique architecture, influenced by different rulers. Located in the center of the beautiful park - the most important sightseeing and an architectural point are Kuressaare Episcopal Castle (interior) built in the 13th century it is the only Baltic medieval fortress preserved in its entirety. During the excursion will see Kuressaare Town Hall built in Nordic Baroque style, Kuressaare Weighing House and stone windmill.

DAY 12: SAAREMAA -  TALLINN

Have a breakfast at hotel. Check out and drive to Tallinn. 

Arrive in Tallinn and have free time for lunch and check in. 

Enjoy a walking tour (2hrs) in the UNESCO heritage listed Tallinn Old Town. During the tour, explore Holy Spirit Church (exterior), the 600 years old Gothic Town Hall (exterior), Ortodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (exterior), the world`s oldest functioning Pharmacy (interior) on Town Hall Square and the 159 meters high Oleveste Church (exterior), which was the highest structure in the world in the 16th century. Visit Toompea Hill for breathtaking views over the city. Toompea Castle (exterior) was built in the 13th and 14th centuries and is the seat of Estonia`s parliament.

DAY 13: TALLINN

Enjoy City sightseeing - Kadriorg Park, Pirita & Noblessner district (2h, walking & vehicle)

DAY 14: TALLINN - LAHEMAA NATIONAL PARK - TALLINN

Visit Lahemaa National Park (6-7 hrs). Lahemaa National Park provides a great overview of most of the natural and cultural landscapes characteristic of Estonia. In Lahemaa (Land of Bays), located on the northern coast of Estonia, you will find stony and sandy seashores, picturesque bogs, pine forests, old-growth forests, cliff forests, alvars and rivers that have cut into the limestone cliff. You will also find many geological, historical and architectural monuments.
Lahemaa is the oldest and largest national park in Estonia, representing the natural and cultural heritage of North Estonia. The park currently covers 72,500 ha, of which a third is maritime. Most people associate Lahemaa with the Palmse, Sagadi and Vihula manors, the captains' village of Käsmu, the fishermen's village of Altja or the beautiful beach at Võsu.
