DAY 2: TALLINN

After breakfast at hotel have a private tour to Kadriorg and Pirita district.

Have a private tour around Tallin city center and Kadriorg Park and Pirita district  (2hrs)

A trip to Tallinn isn’t complete without a visit the Kadriorg and Pirita districts - long-time favorites among locals and foreigners. Kadriorg is famed for its impressive baroque palace and park complex built  by Peter the Great for his wife, Catherine I, in 1718, as well as the Estonian President’s residence. Designed by Italian architect Niccolo Michetti, the palace and surrounding manicured gardens are a prime example of Czarist extravagance, but just as important a reason to visit is that it is also home to the foreign art collection.

Drive to Pirita district to discover the 1980 Olympic Games marina, the history of the St. Bridget’s Convent and gorgeous white-sand beach.

Have a free time for lunch.

In the afternoon visit Open Air Museum Rocca al Mare where you will learn about the historical development about Estonian culture and lifestyle during the centuries.

The vast, forested park is filled with twelve model farmyards which will give you a quick overview of the life of a typical Estonian farmer family a few centuries ago. Just like in a real village, there is a church, a school, mills, a fire station, fishermen’s net sheds, and a pub named “Kolu Kõrts,” with staff demonstrating how people lived and worked in times past.

On summer Saturdays and Sundays join a merry folk-dance on one of the farmstead stages. You can also buy very fine Estonian handcrafts.

Afternoon at leisure and overnight in Tallinn.
