Lahemaa National Park

Lahemaa National Park provides a great overview of most of the natural and cultural landscapes characteristic of Estonia. In Lahemaa (Land of Bays), located on the northern coast of Estonia, you will find stony and sandy seashores, picturesque bogs, pine forests, old-growth forests, cliff forests, alvars and rivers that have cut into the limestone cliff. You will also find many geological, historical and architectural monuments.

Lahemaa is the oldest and largest national park in Estonia, representing the natural and cultural heritage of North Estonia. The park currently covers 72,500 ha, of which a third is maritime. Most people associate Lahemaa with the Palmse, Sagadi and Vihula manors, the captains' village of Käsmu, the fishermen's village of Altja or the beautiful beach at Võsu. It is also known for its natural sights and cultural landscape.
