Delightfully Delicious Destination — Riga

In collaboration with chefs from Riga’s the best restaurants and cafés, the Riga Tourism Development Bureau (RTDB) has developed the “Delightfully Delicious Destination" project. The aim of the project is to show to the locals and foreigners use of Latvian products in the preparation of outstanding and delicious meals. More than 25 different cafes and restaurants are taking part in the “Delightfully Delicious Destination" project.
35th Türi Flower Fair

The start of the peak season of spring gardening in Estonia is marked by the Türi Flower Fair, held in Türi. This year's fair will be the 35th in its history. Represented at the fair will be gardening companies, forestry schools and private gardens, all with special offers designed to help gardeners improve their gardens. Date: 18.05 - 20.05.2012

A wide variaty of local, traditional and seasonal produce and products - homemade bread, fresh and smoked fish and meats, various kinds of cheese, jams, tinned goods, pastry, fresh milk, spices, and other delicious products are found on fair at Berga Bazaar which is opened every second Saturday. Unique Riga Tweed ride

Latvian old bike club in cooperation with the Erenpreis bike shop, for the third year the old bike and retro costume parade-Tweed journey that has already conquered the popularity and what about the more ornate and elegant bike event in the streets of Riga on 5th of May. Tweed journey's goal is to show and highlight the last century 20-30 year bicycle and clothing culture. Trip idea borrowed from London, where the first such trip took place in 2009, later rapidly conquering other cities around the world.
Night of Museums 2012

Museums of Riga remain open after midnight at International Museum Day. Traditional exhibitions are accompanied by several special events - creative workshops, concerts and theatre performances. International Museum Day, held on May 19, has been celebrated in Latvia since 1978. The festivities are held not only on the specific date, but also throughout the entire week. Contemporary Arts Festival “White Night 2011”

On September 10th and 11th Riga holds the contemporary arts festival “White Night 2011”. The contemporary arts forum “White Night” presents art, theatre, music, movement and other art projects and performances. “White Night” is part of the joint “European White Nights” project by Brussels, Madrid, Paris, Riga and Rome.

From 19th – 21st of August, Riga is celebrating 810th anniversary and will turn into a major location for festivity, where visitors to the city will be offered numerous exciting events for children, young people and adults. Program features various concerts, competitions, active recreation and never-ending good mood. A World Elite Aerobatic Formula competition with participants from ten countries will be one of the special features. The Old Town Belfry Music Festival will present jointly –played music from a top of the highest Riga churches. Local craftsmen will sell traditional handicrafts – woodcarvings, earthenware, blankets and modern artworks – accessories, jewellery and crockery.

International Sigulda Opera Festival

The 19th International Sigulda Opera Festival will be held in picturesque Sigulda Castle ruins from 29th of July till 2nd of August. The highlight: Pyotr Tchaikovsky`s Eugene Onegin, with several world-renowned opera singers from Russia, Mexico, France, the USA, Italy, Germany, Estonia and Lithuania. Over subsequent years, the scale and popularity of the event constantly grew, and nowadays the numbers of spectators reaches the thousands.

Go Blonde Festival is one of the most positive festivals in Riga featuring gorgeous clothes, natural smiles and Latvia's most beautiful blondes. This is a special weekend for Latvian Blondes is held the last week of May every year. The festival presents a parade of more than 2,000 participants. On 25th February 2011 Kylie Minogue will perform at “Arena Riga” in Latvia.
Aphrodite-Les Folies Tour 2011 promises to break all previous records. This incredible show is created by Kylie and William Baker, her long-time creative collaborator.
